Element is a pickup system reduced to the absolute minimum. By removing all physical barriers between the guitar strings and the film sensor, a system is created that addresses a design flaw in most traditional under-bridge pickups. These pickups rely on direct pressure from the strings, which press down on the sensor. This is precisely what causes the infamous “quack” that acoustic guitarists are constantly trying to avoid.
Lloyd Baggs designed the Element with an elegantly minimalist approach. The Element suppresses the sharp attack of the strings, allowing it to faithfully replicate the actual movement and resonance of the guitar’s soundboard and capture the subtle nuances of your instrument. Thanks to its fully discrete Class A output preamp, it delivers a warm, “quack-free” sound that can cut through even a loud band mix.
